Call of the Moon

I led efforts for the attract animation of our new Twin Star games and "Call of the Moon" was one of the first. The feeling was that "more action" would be eye-catching compared to the slower, drifting attract animation on our previous products. This project was fast-tracked to make it in time for our trade show and showcases the dedicated efforts of myself and two other senior artists. Very proud of the quality considering the timeline and happy to collaborate with passionate friends. Any time we can break out of the box a little bit almost always yields positive results.

I had an idea to show the transformation from man to wolf with a series of strobing silhouettes and that was the start of this animatic for me in Flash. I had to consider efficiency and what we could get mileage out of but still have it feel unique and polished. We got a decisive "sure, let's do it" after sharing it with management for approval and we were off to the races.
I handled animation on everything except the wolves in the background and the close up on his face. When the game was complete we had an open discussion about our process with outside artists.
